I am a born and raised, and born again Adventist. I grew up around the church as a Pastor's kid, so I've seen the good and the bad and not only have I stuck around, but I am a Bible teacher. I love God and all His "kids".
I am a naturally loud person, although I do try to temper that when first meeting people. I love to laugh and work diligently to maintain an optimistic view of life. Some of my more cynical friends call me naive, but I disagree. Just because I choose to think the best of people doesn't mean I'm unaware of or unprepared for the worst.
A lot of people have used a variety of words to describe me, but I don't think anyone was as accurate as my sister calling me a "shy" extrovert. Although most people would balk at "shy" being an accurate descriptor for me, it's surprisingly true. I am definitely a people person (extrovert), but I'm not quick to step out of my comfort zone. I don't typically do well in a large crowd of strangers. However, if in a small group or at least familiar with a few people, I draw energy from people. But even as an extrovert, I don't mind an evening in and know when I need some "me" time.
I have a very quirky sense of humor, partly due to my family and also to my love of science fiction. I am very much a scifi geek.
I have various interests and equally enjoy a night in as a night (or day) out and about. For me, it's more about the people than the activity. I do enjoy outdoor activities, but sometimes need a gentle nudge (push) to get me moving.
When i think about my ideal man, I see my best friend. Someone who not only accepts my quirks but has some of the same ones. I want someone whose strengths and weaknesses compliment my own, who loves the person I am while challenging me to be better.

A first date is an opportunity to get to know someone. Although I'm all for dinner and a movie, I think a first date should be a casual opportunity to talk - be it over coffee, a walk in the park, or over lunch/dinner.
Honesty and trust are vital to any relationship, be it friendship or more. All secrets don't have to be spilled upon first meeting, but omitting something and outright lying are two very different things in my book.
Believing in the imminent return of Christ, that Saturday is the Sabbath, and that the Spirit of Prophecy isn't relegated to biblical times. But more than that, I believe that being an Adventist is about being God's light to the world. Not necessarily through conversion, but by living our lives in such a way that the world sees God's love through us.
