Introduction

Heya! Thank you for taking a look at my profile =) I'm an open-minded, yet old-fashioned, traditional kinda gal. You can say I have a "liberal" mindset, but I live a conservative lifestyle ^_^

I own my own home in a beautiful, growing suburb and have been a Registered Nurse for 7 years. I haven't really started looking for a significant other until recently. Throughout most of my life, I was focused on school and traveling. Now, though, I'm ready for a relationship, especially one led by the Author of Love.

Life is a gift and is an adventure in the Lord! Lately, I've been learning much about the meaning of His kingdom. A life with Jesus is joyful and filled with peace; it is because of God's Grace-His unselfish, giving nature--that we can rest in knowing it is His power that works in us for good. His Grace helps His searching child, who holds onto Him, develop a sound and disciplined heart and mind. The Lord is my best friend and confidant. I'd love to share my testimony and truths He has shown me with people I'll meet from this website.

I love traveling and experiencing new cultures (learning how other cultures thrive humbles and fascinates me), seeking new adventures (athletic and city exploration), spending time in nature (I enjoy God's amazing creation), and spending time with family and loved ones. I don't club, drink, smoke, curse, do drugs, or any of that sort of thing. It just doesn't appeal to me. But I have taken salsa and free ballroom dancing lessons, which were awesome and so much fun!

I'm athletic and strive to live a healthy and active lifestyle. I'm a very patient and understanding, compassionate, giving and caring person. People have told me that I've got this peaceful, warm vibe. I tend to be a little silly sometimes and am a child-at heart ;-) I just love life and the beauty found in relationships, nature, learning.

I'm looking for a man who is fun, adventurous, kid-at-heart, yet wise in the Lord and discerning to His voice. A man with integrity and dreams and goals of his own who desires to create and build a good family for the Lord. I hope to discover and share life's future adventures with him =)

What I'd like to do on a first date...
Something simple and low-key where we could talk and get to know one another better =)
My past relationships have taught me...
For me, I've learned to keep positive and to not be afraid to strive for open and honest communication. There will be rocky times, but if both are willing to bounce back, forgive, and continue to move forward with each other and Jesus as the center of the relationship, there will be growth for both persons and a strengthened bond in God.
To me, being an Adventist means...
Being an Adventist to me means having the Joy that comes from making God's Kingdom a reality in one's heart. It means being open, kind, and caring towards others, especially those who may not have been blessed with the same upbringing as me. I don't want to judge a person, for only God knows his or her's heart. My life's motto I'm trying to uphold: Just Live and Love well--Live Horizontally, embracing life and people.
In five years, I see myself
I'm in the process of finishing my Bachelor's in nursing. I work at a wonderful hospital in the neonatal intensive care, step down unit. I hope to pursue certification in this field, lactation, and kangaroo-care--areas I feel would help me if God calls me to be a missionary someday. I would also like to complete some pieces for an art gallery of mine own in the future . . .
My favorite Bible passage is...
Goodness, where to start...I have so many passages from where I've drawn strength, guidance, and comfort. Here are some passages that have made a big impact in my life: John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (NIV) I remember reading this as a teenager and realizing, "Wow, this is a new commandment for me, Lord. You want me to love others as You have loved me...Lord, how have You shown Your love for me?" This began a journey of discovering how unselfish and wonderful God's love is. It was truly humbling. Psalm 130:5 "I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope." (KJV) I love this verse. It has strengthened my faith to know that God really does know what is best for me and His timing is perfect, even though I can't see it now, even though I may become discouraged. My soul will wait and hope in the Lord and His promises. I will not let doubt limit what God and heaven can do for me. I just need to let go and let God be God =) John 14:18 "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." (KJV) God's promise to me that He will be there to comfort when I'm feeling alone, or unsure. This has strengthened me many times in the past so that I can smile and keep moving forward with the knowledge that I am never alone! I have the assurance of God's comforting love!
One final thing I'd like to mention...
I grew up in a very close-nit family and have always put my family and friends first. Relationships are a gift from God. I believe the family is an example of the love and relationship between God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is why family is so important to me. On a side note: I enjoy singing and playing the harp, piano, and violin sometimes, although I do need to practice more ;-) I just love the sound of stringed instruments! I also help out singing with my church's praise worship when needed and am in the gospel choir. Take care and God bless you!
