Anything that is mutually fun and interesting where we can talk & talk & talk and get to know each other better. Hopefully we'll find out it is worth a second date. The classic situation... a nice restaurant dinner followed by a long walk would be nice.

When you're hot, you're hot, and when you're not, you're not! Just be yourself, not somebody else, ...roll with the punches, ...take "NO' gracefully for an answer, then get quickly beyond it, bounce right back and try again. Good communication skills and a relationship bonded by worshiping the Lord together are musts for success. Having an SDA mate, strong in her faith, makes compatibility so much easier and better. And honesty and trust in one another is essential also.

Which Adventist do you mean? There's liberal or conservative Adventist. I am a conservative Adventist, believe strongly in the pillars of our denomination's doctrines and a firm follower of EGW. I weep for what the liberal Adventists are trying to do to our denomination. Being Adventist has really taught me what being a serious Christian is all about. An Adventist is serious in doing outreach work and taking the leadership role in bringing others to a saving relationship with Christ. It's a whole lifestyle, not a once a week consideration. Being an Adventist has given me so many answers to my religious questions...as if all the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle have finally come together. I am discovering the importance of keeping feast days.

I've always had a dream, but don't know if it will ever come true or not. Before calling it quits & checking into a nursing home, I'd like to boat down the entire length of the Mississippi River, but NOT camping out along the way...too much mud, humidity and mosquitoes to be comfortable. I can afford to stay in a nice clean, cool motel room each night. Just need to find a way to get back & forth between the river and the motel each evening. I'd like to find a SDA lady who is adventureous and would like to undertake the same dream or similar goals. Realistically, I gave up setting goals a long time ago because something unforeseen usually gets in the way. The road of life is paved with good intentions, and I manage to stumble over a few of the dead skunks in the middle of the road, once too often! I know at 60+ years old, I'd better get busy and do a few things now that I'm retired. Time is slipping by entirely too fast. Time for all of us to get our bags packed and our act together, because the Lord is showing us He is coming soon.

There are a lot of favorite passages in the Bible that I like, I don't have a particular favorite that stands out. The Bible is a whole body of inter-related Bible passages...all are important and favorites of mine. Probably the closest verse to a favorite is John 14:15..."If ye love me, keep my commandments." I like the "balance" of the Christian life this represents and gives guidance for our relationship with Christ. Of Bible stories, I like the Prodigal Son. It shows how the Lord loves us, and how we are to respond to Him in our relationship with Him.

Some people have told me I remind them of the cartoon character "Shrek". I think that's true a little bit...kind of gentle, kind of romantic, and kind of rough, all of it packaged in a sweet sort of way.
