I'm an active fun lovin follower of Jesus Christ. I love my daughters, their husbands, and their children. I love my horses and assorted farm animals. I love to make them available to others who have never had contact with anything but the family dog or cat. I'm honest, perhaps to a fault. If you like thick curly hair I'm not your guy. I fluctuate between totally clean shaved and the rough look. I have good hygiene and have been blessed with good health. I clean up pretty well but I'm not afraid of hard or dirty work. I'm kinda handy around the house. I clean up after myself and i open doors for women in general. I have a lot to offer the right lady. She could be any age. I'm looking for someone who is attractive and interesting. Someone who is health conscious but not a fanatic. I want to share my interests and yours but i understand the need to have space. In a trusting relationship that's healthy. Taking it very slow this time.

What I'd like to do on a first date...

I see our first date as a time to see if there are any behaviors or characteristics that are a turn off for either of us. I would hope that i would have learned enough about you that i could plan something you would enjoy in a safe setting that will give us enough privacy and time for a good conversation and still put you at easy so we can have fun and enjoy the experience. It depends on a lot more information than i have at this point.

My past relationships have taught me...

Not to rush into anything. At this point in my life i am looking to share my life and meager fortune with someone who wants to be with me and who will communicate and work on issues that are sure to come up in the best of marriages. I think i've learned how to disagree without being disagreeable. I'm not always right nor do i need to be. We need to have a God honoring, Christ centered marriage where we both take the time to draw closer to God therefore closer to each other. Like a garden our relationship will take effort, work, and prayer on a consistent basis. It's easier and more rewarding to keep up with the little weeds before they choke out every good thing in the garden but it is still work. It's important to fight fair and to respect each others opinions and beliefs. This will be a partnership as God intended. You will always be right even when i am. lol. Happy wife happy life. ;-)

To me, being an Adventist means...

This is hard. I was not a believer till 1997. I am a member of a nondenominational church that my x and I attended regularly for nearly 10 years. When she left me a very good friend of mine invited me to his SDA church so for the last year I have been attending both churches because I needed the fellowship and wanted to experience God as much as possible. Now I am torn. There is not much difference in the essentials and the other issues are open for discussion. It is a matter of constant prayer for me. I have strong ties to both places.

In five years, I see myself

I would like to follow God's will for my life. He has closed doors and opened others. Whatever I do I want to honor Him. I am looking into an internship with a master horse trainer who also has his doctorate in Theology. He goes around the world demonstrating how his relationship with his horse reflects our relationship with God. He does amazing things showing that until the horse submits to him as his master the horse is happy grazing and running free but he will never reach his full potential. We may be happy and successful people even without God but we will never reach our full potential until we come under the will of our Father. I am praying for the ability to fully trust in Him and surrender to Him.

My favorite Bible passage is...

I love Psalm 23 as it was my maternal grandmother's favorite and Psalm 139 as it was my father's favorite. I love all of 2Timothy as it is basically a letter from a father to his spiritual son. I had the whole thing memorized at one point but it has been a while and I'm a little fuzzy on it now. There are so many verses that have meant so much to me. I guess the one I am thinking about is "be still and know that I am God." He is God and he is there for me and not to harm me in every situation he will turn to good.

One final thing I'd like to mention...

I am looking forward to this process. I will answer any questions you might have. There is no pretense here. I hope you will be open and honest as well. What is important is what have we learned from past experiences and how can we honor God with our lives.
