The Beauty of the Rose: (A Poem about Divorce Recovery)
As you view the stem, think of the stem as the road of life -- always bending, turning and changing; as you’ve walked along life’s road.
As you view the rose, think of the rose as your heart--delicate and fragile, and slowly healing and opening, as time heals your pains and sorrow.
As you view the thorns and bruised petals -- you’ll remember the pain in your life, broken dreams, broken heart, and wounded spirit, which you have experienced in your life.
As you view the growing changes of the rose -- think of them as the growth and changes in your life. As time passes, you will learn to forget your pain, and you will grow to experience new friendships, new joys, new hope, new dreams, and new love.
As you think of the petals and leaves that will wither and fall -- think of them as burdens that you must learn to let go, so your heart can heal, so you can grow to be stronger. In time, God will heal your heart and wounded spirit.
As you view the droplets --think of them as the many tears that you have shed-- Yes; they too, shall someday fade, and feel the warm and gentle touch of love...
As you learn to forgive and forget the pains of yesterday and reach(/span) out for the gift of tomorrow; you’ll experience the freedom of forgiveness.
As you view the beauty of the rose -- think of the beauties of life.... You will notice, as you grow and experience the beauties of life -- you’ll know you have healed, and God has created the beauty within you, just as He created the beauty found in the ROSE!
