I'm a passionate leader, and may be the only person who loves to laugh at corny jokes :D I'm originally from New York which of course means I think it's the greatest city in the world! I moved to Philly two years ago to work at the local school for the Deaf. I work as an early Intervention teacher with parents who have a young Deaf/Hard of Hearing child.
I enjoy being involved in church ministry, particularly with youth and young adults through bible study and mentoring groups. I grew up in the church, so involvement in ministry has always been a part of my life.
I'm looking for a growing Christian... someone who is personally interested and invested in knowing God more. Someone who acknowledges that the Christian walk isn't easy, but at the same time aspires to trust God more with every challenge they face.
I love live music so I try to go to concerts as often as I can- my favorite concerts so far have been Adele, Switchfoot, Casting Crowns and Sade. I try to get to a beach once a year- and by beach I mean the light blue/turquoise waters of the Caribbean... and south Florida I guess lol... not the grey water of the northeast. My family is from the West Indies so I'm partial :)

I'm open to a range of activites... taking a walk with scenic views, going bowling or mini golfing, or just meeting up at a coffee shop. Basically anything that would encourage casual conversation.
I think this question can be answered many different ways. I think being a Christian and Adventist means to seek to understand God's love and genuinely take time to contemplate it throughout one's life. Honestly, every day I have to choose to follow Christ- sometimes every hour or even on a moment by moment basis. There are so many things vying for our devotion (work, relationships, entertainment, etc). The humbling thing is that the Lord chose us before we choose Him. That's love.
There's a lyric from the song, "The Love of God" that just came to mind...
Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made
Were every stalk on earth a quill and every man a scribe by trade
To write the love of God above would drain the oceans dry
Nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky
I'm gonna change this up a bit... I'll share one of my favorite Christian songs: "Already There" by Casting Crowns. One of the lyrics says:
"From where I'm standing, Lord it's so hard for me to see where this is going and where you're leading me. I wish I knew how all my fears and all my questions are gonna play out, in a world I can't control."
Sometimes I feel this way. But I'm reminded in verses such as Psalm 32:8 that the Lord promises to instruct me and teach me in the way I should go, He will guide me with His eye.
Sidenote: I have a never ending/always changing list of "favorite" Christian songs... or just songs in general
