What I'd like to do on a first date...

Some activity we could both participate in...zip lining (looks fun!), boating, grilling, biking, hiking, working on a project..hammock camping (looks fun and comfortable...as long as the bears stay away) I love crackling fires and chilly nights! Target practicing(I have my concealed weapons permit(so far...it's only use was to put an injured animal out of his misery. I've never been to a shooting range...looks like fun!(probably couldn't hit the broad side of a barn now!

My past relationships have taught me...

I believe our paths will cross with some people who are meant to touch our lives but not unnecessarily remain in our lives! I have learned a lot about myself...when 6 years ago, my husband replaced me with a "newer model"....12 years younger! I believe "true love is a gift of one's heart"....it is not earned...therefore it can not be given and taken away! It becomes a part of your heart. I believe love is a choice...not just a feeling or simply something you say. No one and nothing can take that choice away from us! I have no regrets for any of the choices I made in my former 35 year marriage.... that said I realize now...that God in His wisdom...sometimes brings the greatest blessings to us in the ugliest wrapping paper...but when we trust Him...He has an even better plan in store for us! It's definitely an adventure when God is in control...He alone can calm the rough seas...by simply speaking...that's good enough for me! However, I have been known to get a bit motion sick...on occasions!

I believe open and honest communication is vital for a team to operate in sync mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. My husband was not able to share any of his emotions with me. I would enjoy and have enjoyed the new friendships I have been blessed to have created since my divorce. It is so fun to have someone share what they really think...I didn't realize what I had been missing because I never had this dimension in my relationship with my former husband. I love being a part of a man's life..I feel like I have been given a special key and invited into this very special room in their heart. I feel protected...and it's a wonderful feeling to know who you are...what you think...and simply being yourself...is a gift that has value to another person in this life. I like making a positive difference to those I love... Life was made for caring and sharing all of yourself with those you choose to have be a part in your life! We were created to truly love..and be loved...learning and growing...together...for our entire lifetime!

To me, being an Adventist means...

I don't consider myself religious but I am very spiritual! I am interested in allowing God to lead me into His truth. I do not agree with all the doctrines of the organized church but I believe in the basic beliefs. I wear a very small amount of simple jewelry, most pieces have very significant spiritual meanings to me (pearl of great price, it's my reminder that I am uniquely created and loved with an everlasting love!) I do not drink but have no problem with others making their own choices. I prefer not to indulge for basic health beliefs and never have so why change now. I intend to learn to dance this year for the exercise and enjoyment socially! I am an ardent reader of James Allen "As a man thinketh", I believe Mrs.White was not the last person God would send to guide His people in truth and that she has been used abusively and would probably roll over in her grave the way she is quoted out of context so often...wow..I sound like a renegade! I believe we should all think and study openly for God's presence to speak to us personally..not just because a preacher or church declares it to be truth. I can easily allow others to have their own thoughts and opinions but will continue to share and grow personally with God irrespective of those around me.

In five years, I see myself

My life at present revolves around assisting my daughters with the many goals and projects they are striving to accomplish on their non-profit animal rescue farm in the gorgeous mountains of Southwest Virginia. I am in transition from a marriage of 35 years and am contently rediscovering who I am...and what I plan for the future will depend on the Lord's leading..I have thought of volunteering at an orphanage maybe in Kenya (my niece and her husband are in Kenya for 5years as the country director for ADRA or possibly volunteering for the Smile Train working to help repair cleft palates in children. So many interests and needs...

My favorite Bible passage is...

Oh! What's with all the favorite questions...to many to choose from.."Since The Lord is directing our steps...why try to understand everything that happens along the way!", "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine","Now unto Him who is able to do exceeding and abundantly more than we can ever ask or think", "The horse is made ready for war but winning the fight is up to the Lord", "Call upon me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things of which you know not"...and so forth and so on....

One final thing I'd like to mention...

I am not looking for some one to complete my life. I believe until we are whole...we can't really give of ourselves completely to another person. We are attempting to have the other person fill a void that only God can fill!

That said, I love the company of a man..I like feeling valued for who I am and enjoying another for who they truly are...I don't play games, am told I am a very good listener and communicator..warning though..I also have the nick name...affectionately...of course...from a dear friend...of Chatter Box! I love learning new things and sharing thoughts and ideas from a man's perception!

When The Lord said two were stronger than one ...I believe this only is true when both parties are dancing the same dance! If one is doing the Rumba and the other is Ballroom dancing...it just won't be a partnership and team! I intend, literally and figuratively, to learn to dance this year...with or without a partner!

P.S. Regarding photo...not shown...no, I am not knot kneed and cross eyed..I love life and am so active...I just haven't taken time to learn all the technological bumbo...jumbo...of the How...To's...on become Internet savvy! But...lucky for me...my daughters are extremely proficient at it and have promised to slow down long enough to throw something on there...not holding my breath though...they both are amazingly busy with their privately owned animal rescue! I applaud their priorities!

I am not camera shy or vain...I was wonderfully handcrafted by a master craftsman..and "am one of a kind!"...thank goodness! I'm not sure the world could've handled 2 of me..hahaha!

However, "fair warning"...I am not photogenic! A friend and I were talking once about how deceiving photos can be...good or bad! When I mentioned I felt I was not photogenic...she quickly replied..."Oh! Connie you know why don't you?" 'Course I was clueless..she replied..."It's because you are so animated...that can never be caught on camera!" Everyone should have at least one friend in their lifetime who is either...as supportive as she is or maybe just legally blind! hahaha
