Live so the preacher doesn't have to lie at your funeral; this is my motto for life. Looking over my profile I realize I have written nothing about my love for the outdoors and the fact that I enjoy being a very active people person. Love to meet new friends.

What I'd like to do on a first date...

Not so picky about venue but someplace I can drive my own car to meet you. Will save wilderness trail hiking for after I have decided you are not a serial killer. :)

My past relationships have taught me...

That the giving and receiving of kind words and affection increases the quality of life exponentially. That being a nurturer is part of my identity and I admire a man with the courage of his convictions.

To me, being an Adventist means...

It means Jesus Christ died on the cross to save me and has given me a pattern of how to live my life and interact with others. Early on I learned the real blessings of morning worship, Sabbath keeping and a healthy lifestyle but I think my real religion plays out in the way I treat other people in everyday life. A genuine Christian must get high marks in, "plays well with others." Christianity and its effect on me should be defined in the good things it brings into my life rather than the things it eliminates. Nothing can take the place of a close relationship with Jesus; everything else must flow from that.

In five years, I see myself

Finally, I am finished raising my children and ready for adventure. Have transitioned my self image from "widow" to "single woman." Just beginning to see the many possibilities this opens for the next few years.
Writing, mission work, travel, or something not yet imagined could be on the horizon but one thing for sure there will be some productive activity in every day and not much couch sitting.

My favorite Bible passage is...

Jeremiah 22:16 Can it possibly be that simple, that the awesome God who created stars that make our earth look like a microscopic speck and organisms so small that our naked eye cannot discern them and everything between, is it possible that we can truly know our God simply caring for and looking out for the poor and sick among us? A thought so mind boggling that it leaves me breathless.

One final thing I'd like to mention...

In some ways this is the best age of all. We are not old people; I get out of bed feeling great every day. Some of the experiences of life have left scars we didn't expect as teenagers but they have left some polish as well. Is it possible that the next twenty years can hold the finest part of life? Can I still believe that anything is possible and use all I have learned on this journey to honor God in new and creative ways?
I would like to find out.
