"It's ever so much more satisfying to get into a blissful place and attract a blissful person and live blissfully hereafter than to be in a negative place and attract a negative partner and then try to get happy from that negative place." Abraham Hicks

New friendships are always welcome, if only to share mutual commiseration over the difficulty of taking a quality "selfie."

What I'd like to do on a first date...

It's not often that an opportunity presents itself to spend time in adult company without children, but I'd love to try. Maybe volunteer together, a walk or hike with a group, visit a local art gallery or farmer's market and relax outside a cafe sipping a drink...anything with opportunity to get to know each other a bit.

My past relationships have taught me...

I enjoy being single (!) and it's worth waiting for the right one. It's far better to be single than in an ill-advised marriage. Being poorly matched or not "equally yoked" is a miserable place to be. High personal integrity, an empathic spirit towards others, consciously maintaining the connection with God, staying sensitive to His voice...these are essential and at the core of all else.

We can't give to others what we don't have within ourselves.

To me, being an Adventist means...

...knowing God, walking with Him, talking with Him, learning from Him, and seeing others through His eyes...to love as He would...setting fears aside and being willing to give it ALL to Him...looking forward with every fiber of my being to His soon return while living every moment here on earth to the fullest.

I treasure the Sabbath.

In five years, I see myself

I would love to travel the world and go to live concerts (especially with Celtic Woman and Celtic Thunder), but it's more likely I will sit through numerous school musical and theater productions and just as many contemporary dance recitals with a huge smile on my face and a tear of love and pride in my eye, cheer on kids' track and sports events, walk admiringly through 5 consecutive science fairs reading each entry, visit the library approximately 2578 times, cook approximately 1218 meals and wash dishes as many times, supervise homework, and practice the multiplication table until I recite multiplication facts in my sleep. I'll play with grandbabies and grandchildren at every opportunity and take more pictures than any human should take of their family.

And maybe, just maybe, I'll hike a mountain, visit 5 new states, and camp a dozen times.

My favorite Bible passage is...

"Be still and know that I am God." Ps. 46:10 - There are many depths, many levels, to the practice of "being still" within one's spirit, regardless of the storms that may be swirling and howling outside. Learning and practicing the art of being still inwardly is an ongoing process for each of us, not a place at which we "arrive."

"I'll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out - plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for." Jeremiah 29:11 (The Message) - Whatever we go through here on earth, He will bring all the broken pieces of our experiences, our heartbreaks and our joys all together and create us into what we could never imagine. He will lift us up whole before the Father, presenting us as complete, and will wipe every tear away from our eyes. His eyes are gentle and filled with love; His touch brings peace in any situation. He can be trusted.

"For I, says the Lord, will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst." Zechariah 2:5 - Beautiful! This is my prayer.

"They shall walk after the Lord. He will roar like a lion." Hosea 4:10 - Waiting for His roar...

And finally, as this passage most aptly expresses my heart and reflects the reason for my username, "SeekingHisWill"...

Colossians 3:8-16 - But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all. Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

One final thing I'd like to mention...

Laughter is one of the greatest gifts to humanity.
Music is essential to the soul, both as food for the spirit and as expression when words are simply not enough.

It is rare that I have the time to commit to IM...usually just passing through. Also, I never "click yes" on anyone...no particular reason, I just don't.

Contact me only if you are a fellow seeker after the heart of God and interested in friendship. I am not a prude, but I AM His...
