Knowing God, walking with Him, talking with Him, learning from Him, and seeing others through His eyes...to love as He would...Setting fears aside and being willing to give it ALL to Him...Looking forward with every fiber of my being to His soon return. Even so, Lord Jesus, come.
The Sabbath is one of the greatest gifts God has given to humanity. It's a gift, not a burden. He comes and meets with us in the garden of our lives without fail as the sun sets on Friday. There are cultural details about Sabbath which I treasure as a 4th or 5th generation Adventist, and these details enhance the spiritual communion that God Himself brings to us when we wait for Him with open hearts.
There's a whole lot of religion in a loaf of good homemade bread. ;)
"Be still and know that I am God." Ps. 46:10 - There are many depths, many levels, to the practice of "being still" within one's spirit, regardless of the storms that may be swirling and howling outside. Learning and practicing the art of being still inwardly is an ongoing process for each of us, not a place at which we "arrive."
"I'll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out - plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for." Jeremiah 29:11 (The Message) - Whatever we go through here on earth, He will bring all the broken pieces of our experiences, our heartbreaks and our joys all together and create us into what we could never imagine. He will lift us up whole before the Father, presenting us as complete, and will wipe every tear away from our eyes. His eyes are gentle and filled with love; His touch brings peace in any situation. He can be trusted.
"For I, says the Lord, will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst." Zechariah 2:5 - Beautiful! This is my prayer.
"They shall walk after the Lord. He will roar like a lion." Hosea 4:10 - Waiting for His roar...
And finally, as this passage most aptly expresses my heart and reflects the reason for my username, "SeekingHisWill"...
Colossians 3:8-16 - But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all. Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Connection with others is what life is about here on earth. Laughter is one of the greatest gifts to humanity. Those who can find reason to laugh in any situation are truly gifted. Music is essential to the soul, both as food for the spirit, and as expression when words fail.
It is rare that I have the time to commit to IM...usually just passing through. Also, I never "click yes" on anyone...no particular reason, I just don't.
