I would love to travel the world and go to live concerts (especially with Celtic Woman and Celtic Thunder), but it's more likely I will sit through numerous school musical and theater productions and just as many contemporary dance recitals with a huge smile on my face and a tear of love and pride in my eye, cheer on kids' track and sports events, walk admiringly through 5 consecutive science fairs reading each entry, visit the library approximately 2578 times, cook approximately 1218 meals and wash dishes as many times, supervise homework, and practice the multiplication table until I recite multiplication facts in my sleep. I'll play with grandbabies and grandchildren at every opportunity and take more pictures than any human should take of their family.
And maybe, just maybe, I'll hike a mountain, visit 5 new states, and camp a dozen times.
"Be still and know that I am God." Ps. 46:10 - There are many depths, many levels, to the practice of "being still" within one's spirit, regardless of the storms that may be swirling and howling outside. Learning and practicing the art of being still inwardly is an ongoing process for each of us, not a place at which we "arrive."
"I'll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out - plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for." Jeremiah 29:11 (The Message) - Whatever we go through here on earth, He will bring all the broken pieces of our experiences, our heartbreaks and our joys all together and create us into what we could never imagine. He will lift us up whole before the Father, presenting us as complete, and will wipe every tear away from our eyes. His eyes are gentle and filled with love; His touch brings peace in any situation. He can be trusted.
"For I, says the Lord, will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst." Zechariah 2:5 - Beautiful! This is my prayer.
"They shall walk after the Lord. He will roar like a lion." Hosea 4:10 - Waiting for His roar...
And finally, as this passage most aptly expresses my heart and reflects the reason for my username, "SeekingHisWill"...
Colossians 3:8-16 - But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all. Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
