What I'd like to do on a first date...

Lets go climb a tree and chew bubble gum to see who can blow the biggest bubble. Or, we can go fly a kite. Ride bikes. Archery! Note: You may want to stand back some, my aim is kinda off.

My past relationships have taught me...

1. So, you say you don't like my garlic breath? It's better than Ganja!
2. You don't like pigtails?! So what if I'm 43!
3. Why did everyone run when my guy just entered the room?

It's really not good to be naive, but I've learned a lot through the years. (I wonder if the guys here wouldn't mind my tie dyed shirts?)

To me, being an Adventist means...

That we of course have a unique message that's actually been around for years. Growing up as a Colporters daughter I learned early on the dedication my Father had for our wonderful savior. Jesus was always leading him in selling "The Bible Story" books. Many times he was impressed to turn his car around & go to a home that wasn't on his appointment list. And what do you know? It always seemed to be a run down shack with people you thought wouldn't be able to buy, but they did. Once, he was on his way back home, came to a light, and then felt impressed to go back to a certain home he wasn't able to sell to. But, he decided it could wait for tomorrow. He then tried to turn the wheel for the light was green, but the wheel suddenly locked up. He heard a voice say,"Go back." And as soon as he agreed to the Lord that he would, the wheel started moving again and sold more books. These kind of stories have been printed on my mind and they show that Christ is eager for us to be dedicated to His truth, obey the Holy Spirit, and then share with others about his love. My father is dead now, but whether Im a colporter or not my mission will be the same as his, to be dedicated to our savior.

In five years, I see myself

How about the next 5 minutes? I have some dreams I hope will be fulfilled. It's funny how our paths can end up shocking us! I guess you could say I've been making a lot of lemonade. Life's also great! I get to experience how God works. Other than that, ask me!

My favorite Bible passage is...

"And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; (exciting) I will lead them in paths that they have not known: (let's go!) I will make darkness light before them, ( Wow, no more flashlights?!!) and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. (Cool, He's like glue! He truly loves us.)
This verse reveals to me we have a Father who desires to lead us in such a new way that all our troubles can be left behind. He wants to shine His light on our path. He wants to take our crooked problems and straighten them out for us. Also, when the going gets really tough He's like the best Trail Guide who never leaves you stranded. (:

One final thing I'd like to mention...

It seems to me that we sometimes focus to much on lofty ideals of romantic perfection. I've seen some of my married friends relationships fall apart, because dissatisfaction rules their days. It's like their smoking marital ganja expecting their marriages to be a life filled with constant waves of joy, where every morning birds sing you awake & little bunnies help you sweep the floors as the chipmunks wash the dishes. If you are going to survive unexpected circumstances and disappointments, you are going to have to be willing to change, to adjust, to work with what you have, and to commit to doing things you normally wouldn't have chosen to do. Evenso, all I know is that I don't want to end up being the property of the "Pumpkin Eater." I believe we need to find someone who truly believes and lives by the principles of love, acceptance, patience, and forgiveness. God referred to such a person as a "Believer."
