Introduction

I really enjoy talking with my friends about the basic experiences of life as well as understanding and explaining things. I find much humor and irony in life, so I love to make jokes and puns about all kinds of things.
I have a strong SDA heritage that I cherish and I am a very spiritual person. By trade I am a therapist and I have been seeing clients for about seven years. I have a masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and recently finished a Ph.D. in Family Studies, which is kind of like Sociology of the family. Currently, I'm studying for my license exam.
I have one nephew and three nieces. I enjoy being an uncle and I love all of them very much.
If I were to list off some of my hobbies I would say that I enjoy snow skiing, boating, fishing, history, good music, Broadway Plays, symphonies, having deep conversations with friends, spending time with family (including my little nieces and nephew), Sabbaths, good food, cooking, swimming, hot tubing, jogging, bike riding, and of course, a good joke.
I’m looking for a girl that likes some of the same things. Also someone who is bright, intelligent, honest, has a sense of humor and strong family values.

What I'd like to do on a first date...
That would depend a lot on what the girl wanted to do. Personally, I would prefer dinner at a nice restaurant, but I would also be happy with meeting her at a coffee shop. Either way, I would get a chance to know her better, so that if we have a second date I will know more about what she likes to do on dates.
My past relationships have taught me...
Always be kind, understanding, attentive and giving. Even if you do not receive the same treatment it’s still worth it. I've learned how to prevent myself from being a therapist in my relationships, because most women don't like to be analyzed.
To me, being an Adventist means...
It’s a part of my identity and my culture to such an extent that I have no idea who I would be if I was not Adventist.
In five years, I see myself
Completing my license and possibly taking on some work as a presenter or a professor. I'd also like to settle down and have some kids.
My favorite Bible passage is...
John 15:15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. I like the fact that it makes God more accessible to us as humans. I can be much closer to a friend than I can to a master.
