Introduction
My name is Ethan M. Rogers and I suppose I'm looking for someone that understands loyalty, commitment respect and, most importantly, that love is an action not a feeling and the ability to love comes from God, not from within ourselves... a sense of adventure, a love of people and cultures, a sharp wit and somebody that isn't afraid to go a couple of rounds with me if I'm being an idiot wouldn't hurt either, everybody needs to be put in their place once in awhile - it'd be nice to find someone that can do that with love and without anger. Someone who is first and foremost for God but isn't in a hurry to give up the gift of life that God has given us here and now. Yes, we should look forward to Christ's return but we should also enjoy our time here and the opportunities to share Him with those who still need Him and also appreciate the lessons we still have to learn ourselves.

Rock Climbing, Hiking, touring artists studios on a weekday city art walk, grabbing tacos off a food truck in the not so bad part of town, hitting up a poetry reading, zip lining, a walk along the boardwalk... the activity is always less important than the company, being able to engage in playful banter, watch people and explore something new together - that is what a first date is all about.

That God must always come first... we cannot be the people we are meant to be in a relationship without God at the center not only of our lives but of our relationships. Without prayer and fellowship within the relationship you may as well be asking for things to fail...

the gift of the Sabbath...

hmmm... this is rather a loaded question for a Christian... I don't plan, really, I hope... I move forward toward something I think I want, but I leave room for God to lead me in the direction He wishes... I've had so many plans come to naught, not for lack of trying, but simply because God opened doors in other directions taking me to places I hadn't considered, always for the better.

Matthew 6:24-34 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
This verse reminds me to take things one day at a time and to rely on God, not myself...
Another one that has been coming up a lot for me lately - John 15:5... also 2 Peter 1:5-11 and Galatians 5:22 (1/30/12)

I'm currently working as a carpenter as well as working as a real estate agent with Keller Williams. I'm ready to settle down, get married, buy a house, have kids (after spending a little time doing some travelling and enjoying time with my wife, of course) and enjoy life the way it was meant to be enjoyed, with a person God has placed in your life.
