I'm very outgoing, intelligent, and tend to be drawn to activity. Some days, however, I truly enjoy a little peace and quiet. Learning is a lifelong quest for me and it is extremely important for me to find someone who values education as much as I; I try to learn something new every day. I am a firm believer of the phrase 'carpe diem' and try to live each day to the fullest. I am looking for someone who has a hunger for knowledge and a solid relationship with God. I am looking for someone who wants to travel life's journey with me, and walk alongside each other through thick and thin. Ideally, I am not looking for anyone who already has children, and I have had a tough go with long distance relationships, but realize that it can work - I've seen close friends make it work well. If you don't have photos, please do not expect a response. Also, if you are old enough to be my father, please be advised that I definitely will not respond.

What I'd like to do on a first date...

Anything that gives me the best opportunity to get to know someone in their most comfortable state would be a good option. It's usually nice to get to know someone by meeting over a nice dinner and to have a nice conversation. If it's possible to get to know someone and talk while doing other things, like sporting events, that's great, too. [Especially if it involves snowboarding, hockey, or car racing! Heehee]

My past relationships have taught me...

That it is not always easy, but with someone who puts in as much effort and care as their partner, it is possible to make things work through the good times and bad. The key is that BOTH people must be interested in putting in their best effort to make things work. Love can be that motivation to try. It is definitely easier, though, when two people are compatible and want the same things. The right relationship will be comfortable and the major things will be easy most of the time. It is definitely important for my family to get along with the man with whom to marry.

To me, being an Adventist means...

Oh, so very many things! Presently for me, it's about having a real, realistic, dynamic-yet-stable relationship with God wherein my doubts regarding life circumstances don't get in the way of my trust in Him and gratitude for all that He has already done for me. I really don't want to convert someone or be converted by a suitor.

In five years, I see myself

I will be as happy or happier with my life, which will be full to the brim with joy. I hope to be healthy, and maybe in a new house with my own family to fill it. Careerwise, I would still be loving my work as much as I do now. I plan to keep my current close friends, too. ;)

My favorite Bible passage is...

Happy is the man [and woman] that findeth wisdom, and the man [and woman] that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her; and happy is everyone that retaineth her.

Proverbs 3:13-18

This sums up in a nutshell my quest for learning and for good judgment/wisdom. It's the only thing that sets humans apart from animals and it's the most useful tool in life.

One final thing I'd like to mention...

Politically, I seek someone who believes in the principles of life, liberty, and property; I am essentially libertarian. I'm looking for someone who is open minded, and not legalistic in religious dogma such that the forest is missed for the trees. Judgmental SDAs need not apply. Oh, and I'm not the typical/stereotypical Asian female... in case you haven't already picked up on that.
