Things I have learned from past relationships is that each of us need to be whole until ourselves. We need to be strong in our own identities without having to rely on the other person. We need to be strong in our own beliefs without trying to hitch a ride to heaven on the other person's coat tails. Relationships are not to be two half circles meeting to form one, but two complete circles intersecting.
The most important thing in a relationship is the ability to have effective communication. Communication is not just sharing what happened in your day, but what you think and feel, what are your dreams and aspirations. It is being open and vulnerable, trusting that the other person has your back.
Personally, I do not believe we will still be around in five years. However, we are to not to just become a hermit, waiting for Christ's return. So, my goals for the next five years:
-get some land where I can grow as much of my own food as possible
-get my business Kindling Dreams off the ground
-earn my doctorate in natural health (or related topic)
- travel, travel, travel
Isa 65:24 'And before they call, I will answer; yet while they are speaking, I will hear.'
Jer 29:11 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.'
I have many favorites but the first one reminds me that God's answer is on the way even if I do not see any part of it. It reminds me that evil angels often fight with God's messengers to try to keep them from bringing the answers. God always wins.
The second verse reminds me that God has a great purpose for each of us. He wants us to be happy and fulfilled while living out His purpose. Sometimes we get bogged down in the daily grind of life's troubles. This verse offers hope that God has a better future for us, if we follow His guidance.
Because I love to learn, I am always studying various topics. I love to take this information and create programs to share with others. It is all about helping others overcome challenges and achieve God' purpose. I am finishing my counseling internship with a goal of using whole body methods to help people spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I have studied alternative medicines for almost as long as I have been an Adventist (30 yrs) so I can help people achieve their potential using God's nature. I love to take pictures of nature.
To let the reader know more about me:
Meyers-Briggs - INFJ
Life Languages - Influencer, Contemplater, Doer (top 3)
Love Language - Physical Touch, Words of Affirmation
Temperament - Choleric Sanguine (mainly Choleric)
Each of these fit me pretty well.
I guess I am getting settled in my 'old' age as I turned 50 recently. I am no longer tilting at windmillls. I'm keeping my profile here because just in case someone reads it and wants to know more. However, I have better uses for my money than to pay to be able to email each other.
If you are interested, it is not hard to find me. You have the community I live in. I attend church in the community north of where I live. Most people there know of me. I'm the only transplanted Texan who works as a counselor, writer, teacher. It would take maybe 10 minutes to track me down.
I have a lot to offer. Last year, I was extremely sick, I was barely functional. However, I started putting into practice the principles of health God has given us. Now, it is like I am in my mid-30s instead of turning 50, and it keeps getting better. Now that I'm finishing up my school internship, it is time to get busy doing God's work for me. I have a great interest in the mission field - here and abroad. I believe our time is short. We need to get busy spreading the news. We are told that our health message will be the leading hand in the last days. I see it happening all over. This is why I have decided to continue my education on alternative health practices. I want to work with people in a wholistic manner.
I would love to have someone to work alongside me, however, I am a strong, determined woman. I do not need someone to hold my hand to get through the coming days. God holds my hand. If He intends to provide a man to walk alongside me, that's great. I have learned a great deal on how to build healthy relationships. I know how to communicate and share. I am not one to lean, though, except on God. I am complete on my own. I sure do not need a man to complete me. However, if there is someone out there who wishes to have a helpmate to finish God's work in a common manner, look me up. If nothing else, we can brainstorm some ideas on how to help others.
I'm not perfect by any means. I tend to be opinionated, but I am a good listener. I care. Sometimes I feel I care too much about the problems of this world. That is why my brain is constantly creating programs to help people. I am very entrepreneurial minded. I have a wide variety of interests and could be happy following any of them. This is both a strength and a weakness. However, I prefer to concentrate on the positive.
Anyways, it is not hard to find me with the info shared here on the profile. If interested, I would love to talk with you.
