I'm a quiet person, almost to the point of reclusive. I find it much easier to work with technology than people. Conflict is something I shun with a passion. There's been numerous rough patches in my life, before and after becoming a Christian and I feel a growing desire for a quieter, simpler life. Currently, I'm unemployed and searching for a job that doesn't push me to be dishonest, or tolerate corrupt and unreasonable practises. I enjoy simple things in life- camping, dinner with friends, playing music (I play some clarinet, though admittedly, I've lapsed for a while), occasional gardening (if shallots in a plant pot count), writing, bush walks etc. I like camping. Not softy-cabin-ensuite camping, I mean the REAL thing- tent, fire and a cast iron pot hanging over it with lunch roasting inside! Having said all that, I haven't been out of the suburbs for a while because of work... such is life sometimes :) I spend quiet moments under my house creating, programming, fixing, welding, painting or whatever engages my imagination. I can be quiet at times but that's only a cover. There's humor, mischief and adventure tucked away for the right times (or people).
I gave my life to Jesus in 1998 and since then, the Lord has led me through a kaleidescope of experiences. It really is a truth that our baptism is only the beginning of a new life, with God leading us towards our eternal home. I regularly help in a couple of churches with sabbath school, care group and occasional preaching. Ministry is a part of my life and always will be, I hope to share the Lord's work with my future partner.
So what am I looking for? Honest, genuine faith in Jesus. Dedication to His church. Patience, humor, creativity, humility, simplicity, honesty. Similar lifestyle and values. Someone I can be myself with and who can do the same. More than just romance, pleasure and marriage, I want my best friend. Not a perfect person (or I wouldn't be worthy of her! lol)... but someone who knows that Jesus has higher heights for us to reach and is ready to lead us there.

Get to know the other person.
Whether it happens at a dinner table, a beach, picnic, or hiking up a mountain, as long as it's about us, that's the most important part. :)
When God made Adam and Eve, he didn't give them screens and webcams :)
Internet is a challenging medium for a relationship. Virtual relationships are easy to build in one sense, but there's no substitute for being face to face. I was a bit naive when I first joined this site and a few lessons later, I'm convinced that real time together is essential before any serious commitment can be made. Until then, "friendship only" is the safest and fairest option.
I believe in the saying "Like attracts like" and common values and similar lifestyles go a long way to helping two lives blend together. What is really important is both people reaching for Christ-likeness so they can better love and honor each other, this is what the Lord wants and it's what He will bless.
That I am no longer a Sunday keeper :P
Well, what it really means is that I have a faith and a worldview that is truthful, based on scripture. It's more than just "church", Jesus IS my identity. Not my job, not my family, not my culture, not ANYTHING on this earth, or inside of me, everything comes second to God. When all else fails, He is there, unchanging. From this, I find my identity, my worth, my purpose and direction.
Seventh Day: The God who created me
Adventist: is coming back to take me home soon.
God has given us a sacred calling for this time in Earth's history, That doesn't make us better than everyone else, just the opposite- it places a solemn responsibility upon us to play our part in sharing this message with others. It isn't our love for others that drives us to do this, it's the Lord's love, working through is to draw others to Him.
When you think about it, life on Earth is too short to do all the good things we want to do. I'm thinking into the future, when I'll have all eternity to learn, build, sing, travel, plan, create, whatever.. in the meantime, I'm glad for what I have and the opportunities I have now to enjoy life as a Christian.
At peace with the Lord, I want to be serving in His name and to know that I'm fulfilling His will.
More specifically, I'm aiming to further educate myself in software/electronic engineering to better fulfill my varied roles at my current job. I have definite plans to settle and purchase a home, so budget wise, I'm fairly conservative. There are also needs in the local church community that I will be supporting to a large degree as well as my local church commitments for teaching/preaching. This is, of course, assuming that Jesus doesn't return by then ;)
"Be still, and know that I am God."
I could fill this section with verses. I'm thankful for the whole bible. It's been part of my life since I was a kid. I can see now, looking back, what a huge difference that made in my life. Through it, I met Jesus. What more can I say?
I am a firm believer in the words of Jesus- "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. By the bible, I judge my motives and thoughts, my values and dreams. I also uphold Ellen White's writings as inspired of the Lord and they have been one of the greatest blessings to my faith.
I am a vegetarian for health reasons as much as biblical ones and I'm grateful for the new lease of life I've found in living our health message. Cooking is one of my favorite passtimes, I love my food!
I believe as the bible says, "by beholding, we become changed" and I carefully consider the things that I bring into my life. There's very little secular entertainment that I would make time for, it just doesn't interest me. I'm much happier in a peaceful environment, being with good friends or doing something constructive. I mention this for a good reason: A number of women have approached me who thought that I was the "Spiritual Man" that they were looking for, only to realize that our lifestyles were totally incompatible. Consider if you are taking a similar path with the Lord. Two cannot walk together except they be agreed.
My profile says I'm open to people world wide, but I should say that Australia is home for me. This is where my best opportunities are. God may have different plans for me... we'll see. :)
