Oh, the joys of filling in profiles! Where to start? Basically, I'm a quiet, abstract thinking engineer type of person who also enjoys simple things in life- camping, dinner with friends, playing music (if I ever buy another instrument again), writing, bush walks etc. I like camping. Not softy-cabin-ensuite camping, I mean the REAL thing- tent, fire and a cast iron pot hanging over it with lunch roasting inside! I do suffer from mild fatigue and often run short of energy, though I am loath to rest when I am in the middle of something and that sometimes comes back to haunt me. I have a man cave. It has tools, machinery, electronics stuff, dreams, ideas, projects and spiders. It's my therapy for when I need time out from the cares of life.
I've had some significant life events happen in the last 18 months:
1. Smashing my knee on a trampoline and having to learn to walk again,
2. Losing my job,
3. Buying land in cattle country and moving into a caravan on said land, complete with a gas shower/stove, water tank and solar panels,
4. Starting work as a part time cab driver.
The job market has gone somewhat south in the last few years, my immaculate IT/Electronics resume is no longer adequate and so at 36, I'm challenged to look further afield for work, and consider anything that may be an option. I also have one, possibly two operations coming up for my knee. Just putting all this out there, so you know that I have health issues and employment issues. I'm working on both, but of the two, health is the priority... which may have some far reaching consequences as far as future income/career is concerned.
My priorities are very down to earth- health, food, housing, employment, and of course, my relationship with the Lord - I am active in ministry, preaching and singing in a choir on a regular basis. I know that many of you ladies are really into travel, but at my age, and considering my situation, finances really need to go into more enduring things, like a home and retirement fund. I'm all for fun and recreation, but for hundreds, not thousands... though if you're rolling in cash, well... far be it from me to refuse, as long as you're willing to walk slow enough for me to keep up on my wonky leg ;) I believe in the commission Jesus gave us to reach the world, and the person I marry needs to have a similar outlook on life - we are living in a troubled world that is nearing its used-by date, and we have a God-given purpose beyond merely gratifying our desires. Of course, I do have a creative, romantic side that is reserved for that special someone. It's dormant, but with the right person, it will come back to life :)

Get to know the other person. Your thoughts, your dreams, your likes and dislikes. As far as the setting, food is always a good start! It can be a restaurant, a picnic table, the beach... as long as it works for both of us.
When God made Adam and Eve, he didn't give them screens and webcams :)
I've learned that good relationships grow in time and trust... both in quantity. When two people work as life partners, when they prefer one another's company and actually like each other (as opposed to pursuing a relationship for purely selfish motives), then there's a chance of things working.
That I am no longer a Sunday keeper :P
Well, what it really means is that I have a faith and a worldview that is truthful, based on scripture. It's more than just "church", Jesus IS my identity. Not my job, not my family, not my culture, not ANYTHING on this earth, or inside of me, everything comes second to God. When all else fails, He is there, unchanging. From this, I find my identity, my worth, my purpose and direction.
Seventh Day: The God who created me
Adventist: is coming back to take me home soon.
God has given us a sacred calling for this time in Earth's history, That doesn't make us better than everyone else, just the opposite- it places a solemn responsibility upon us to play our part in sharing this message with others. It isn't our love for others that drives us to do this, it's the Lord's love, working through is to draw others to Him.
When you think about it, life on Earth is too short to do all the good things we want to do. I'm thinking into the future, when I'll have all eternity to learn, build, sing, travel, plan, create, whatever.. in the meantime, I'm glad for what I have and the opportunities I have now to enjoy life as a Christian.
At peace with the Lord, I want to be serving in His name and to know that I'm fulfilling His will.
More specifically, I'm aiming to get my knee fixed, find stable work, get a house built on my land, and continue to serve in ministry. Will we see Jesus return in that time? Quite possibly.
"Be still, and know that I am God."
I could fill this section with verses. I'm thankful for the whole bible. It's been part of my life since I was a kid. I can see now, looking back, what a huge difference that made in my life. Through it, I met Jesus. What more can I say?
I am a firm believer in the words of Jesus- "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. By the bible, I judge my motives and thoughts, my values and dreams. I also uphold Ellen White's writings as inspired of the Lord and they have been one of the greatest blessings to my faith.
I am a vegetarian for health reasons as much as biblical ones and I'm grateful for the new lease of life I've found in living our health message. Cooking is one of my favorite passtimes, I love my food!
I believe as the bible says, "by beholding, we become changed" and I carefully consider the things that I bring into my life. There's very little secular entertainment that I would make time for, it just doesn't interest me. I'm much happier in a peaceful environment, being with good friends or doing something constructive. I mention this for a good reason: A number of women have approached me who thought that I was the "Spiritual Man" that they were looking for, only to realize that our lifestyles were totally incompatible. Consider if you are taking a similar path with the Lord. Two cannot walk together except they be agreed.
My profile says I'm open to people world wide, but I should say that Australia is home for me. This is where my best opportunities are. God may have different plans for me... we'll see. :)
