Introduction

My friends would say I have a great sense of humor, fun loving, kind, loving, caring compassionate, tenderhearted, loyal, hard working generous with my time and reserved.
i love to travel, ride horses (haven't done much of either), campfires on the property or while camping, fishing (i don't eat them), cars and car shows, motorcycle riding, bicycling, walking on the beach or scenic area holding hands, cuddling by the fire while watching tv or a movie. i am retired but work as needed for a friend because of some circumstances in my life. Do alot of my own mechanical work, and am presently doing remodel/updating on my ranch style house that sits on a hill overlooking 2 acres. love children, dogs and horses (funny combination in a sentence but all three have the ability to "see" the inner soul - true character of a person.
i want to be all that God wants me to be. i am looking for a bestfriend, "partner". that special someone that i hope to have in my life will believe in mutual respect and have a strong belief in and personal relationship with God which are the foundation for an eternal lasting relationship. Then everything else compassion, honesty, caring, companionship, passion, intimacy, etc. will will be the building blocks for an awesome forever friendship relationship;and whenever issues come up we can work with each other in a way that will bring resolution or compromise, apologizes when needed and forgiveness for any misunderstanding and be an honor to God and our relationship. our home should be a safe place haven , a place where we can come and worship and pray together, laugh together, cry together, pour out our hearts and secret goals and desires and fears to each other, play together and work together and hold and comfort each other. Our little "heaven" on earth, until Christ returns or we are laid to rest in the hope of the resurrection.
I debated whether to include this part in the introduction or the final thought. decided to put it here. We all have baggage that we bring to a relationship. I am not a "sugar daddy" nor a verbal and emotional punching bag or do i want to be led around with a ring in my nose. If you use your mouth as a verbal whip I am not interested in a dominatrix. I believe in the message of my favorite movie - JOHNNY LINGO - the 23 minute version done by Brigham Young University and it is on You-tube. It is what I believe marriage and respect in a marriage is about. it is well-worth watching!
My goal is to wakeup each day and ask myself, "How can I make my spouse happy they are alive and married to me?" - quote borrowed from Dr. Laura.
if you know about JOHNNY LINGO you will know what this means - My "MAHANNA" I am searching for you.
Thank for taking the time to read my profile. I pray for God's leading and blessing as you and I search for what God has in store for us.

What I'd like to do on a first date...

Most important is to meet in a relaxing atmosphere and safe environment for the first time, in a public setting in an activity of mutual interest. Possible activities could be coffee shop, fast food or regular restaurant, ice cream parlor, bowling, min-golf, museums, art gallery, sports event, a park and a picnic, zoo, amusement park, walk on the beach or at a park, shopping in a mall ( I'm not crazy about shopping but it is a public place and you get a feel for a person's taste and interest in things, besides if you get married you may have to get used to it anyway). Church service and potluck, church gathering or social, religious concert.
A long distance "relationship" would be more of a challenge due to the distance needed to travel, expenses because both parties would have to be willing to invest the time due to the distance traveled. Maybe a cruise or sight seeing with a group of friends or church group for a few day or a mission trip in the United States or a foreign country.
any place or activities that is mutually acceptable to both individuals.

My past relationships have taught me...

It absolutely takes God and two committed people to make a relationship work. Develop a friendship and talk to God about the relationship. Trust your instincts and keep your eyes wide open. Ask God to guard and protect your heart. The relationship is worth more than the conflict and if we value the relationship change must take place. There are some people who always seem angry and continuously look for conflict. Walk away, the battle they are fighting isn't with you it is with themselves. They will never win that battle unless they admit to it and ask God to help them conquer and to stay with them will be a life of absolute turmoil, drama and agony!

To me, being an Adventist means...

First, and most important is my relationship with God (that needs alot of help and God is helping me). I also know that the S.D.A. church doesn't have a lock on the pearly gates. I believe in the Sabbath and am thankful for it and I believe we are winding down to the end of time. I am conservative and blieve in the basic "doctrines" but I believe that in some areas the "church" maybe a bit legalistic. God and our relationship with Him make the final determination of whether we will be in Heaven, not what the church and its doctrines say. i personally don't have a problem with limited makeup and jewelry but some adventist would have a vegetarian cow after they got through eating their sugar filled plates at potluck!

In five years, I see myself

Hope to be sharing my life with the person God has chosen for me. to be sharing my God, my heart and my life with my queen - my "Mahana". To be living a spiritual, happy, healthy (physical, mental, social, psychological and financial) affectionate life with someone who loves and respects me and has a compassionate, caring, tender and loving heart because that is what i have to give with God's help. Hopefully to do some camping, fishing and travel around the U.S.A., maybe a cruise, some short mission trips. Preparing together for the final road trip together so that we can walk hand-in-hand through the Pearly Gates and together hear those words, "Well-done thous good and faithful servants...enter into the joy of thy Lord." Matt 25:23

My favorite Bible passage is...

John 3:16 and John 14:1-3. i love the life stories of the Bible characters because they give me hope that inspite of me being a sinner that God forgives and I can glean experiences and insights from their lives that will help me and give me courage.

One final thing I'd like to mention...

I hope to find a bestfriend for life. Someone who I can stand beside evenly yoked together in a healthy emotional, spiritual, physical, social and financial life together. I want to get up each morning and ask myself, "How can I make my spouse happy they are alive and married to me?" Am i perfect ? NO! I do know that marriage is made up of two imperfect people, who with God's help have alot of patience and forgiveness.
