At heart, I'm an adventurer. I am possessed with a sense of curiosity in overdrive and an overly developed imagination combined with an inability to sit still. This explains much of who I am and what I do. I am an archeologist because I have to know the past and know the stories of the people of long ago, particularly those of the Bible. I travel as much as I do because there is a world filled with stories out there just waiting to be discovered and I must know it.
Central to this and to me is the greatest adventure of all, which is being too know God. This is not just the adventure of a lifetime, but of eternity. This is why I so much love the church because it surrounds me with people who share and push me in this adventure.
What I am looking for is simple: someone who shares my sense of adventure and wants to go on one with me.

What I'd like to do on a first date...

Something like a dinner theater or sports event (baseball game for example) where there is something going on that we can both participate in. That acts as a natural icebreaker which makes conversation a lot easier.

My past relationships have taught me...

Don't settle for who you would be okay with but only someone you WANT to be with.

To me, being an Adventist means...

Bearing the responsibility of the remnant message. God had given us a special mage and revelation of who he is and what he wants. We have a responsibility to live up to that and share with others. We are part of a movement and a message; an adventure if you will.
Additionally being an Adventist means being part of a community of people who are pursuing a relationship with and understanding God. It is a joy to be part of a group that I can grow with, share with, and struggle with in our pursuit of God.

In five years, I see myself

Done with my master's in Biblical Archaeology and well into my PhD.

My favorite Bible passage is...

I'll give a story instead. The story of the woman caught in adultery because that highlights so much in few verses. It tells about the mixture of justice and grace that God offers us, how we ought to feel and respond before Christ, and how we ought not to. It is a beautiful story. Genesis 2:25 is a powerful verse as well because it so perfectly encapsulates the ideal God has for us, but if you want to know more, please ask.

One final thing I'd like to mention...

Anything you want to know is there if you ask.
