Essays

What I'd like to do on a first date...
A first date should be relaxed and normal, picnic, beach, walk in the park, nice dinner and talk, just chatting and getting to know each other. I'm kind of easy going and flexible. Life is too short to get too hung up on things when we could just relax and enjoy the journey. I'm open to suggestions.
My past relationships have taught me...
That time and God are the keys to meeting the person God knows will be good for me. Then more time to get to know each other don't worry be happy, God knows what He is doing. Oh the time thing it's not that long but it is necessary. I have learned it is better to trust God then yourself. God must be first and friendship with Him at the center is the best.
To me, being an Adventist means...
To be a believer in Jesus as the be all and end all for everything. Most of us go through life dong christian things but are not always Christians at heart, but it is a heart matter above all things. I can't be an Adventist if I'm not a christian. If my heart is right with Jesus then He will sort out the rest. To answer: it means to follow what the Bible teaches no matter where that leads.
In five years, I see myself
The is really up to God. A pastor friend learned he has cancer and looks like not long to live. This was not in his plans so I guess in reflection I think I'll let God take care of the future and just hang on for the most amazing ride of my life. If He brings someone into my life that would be awesome and if not then He'll have to walk with me through it by myself.
My favorite Bible passage is...
Romans 8 : 28 It's God's job to deal with my life and He does a much better job than I do or will do on my own. John 3 : 16 It's all about God and His love for me. WOW!!! He love me that much! I don't always get but I am still learning and will continue to do so until Jesus comes. Soon I hope!
One final thing I'd like to mention...
My wife passed away four years ago and I would like to see if God has someone for me to share the rest of my journey with. I try to be an open and honest person. I'm not into playing games life is too short. I am in perfect health at this point and hope to be for some time in the future. I have two sons one married and the other living with me but getting married in July, 2013.
