I would just like to talk and get to know one another, perhaps over dinner and then a walk in the park. Basically, I want to establish a friendship first, because I firmly believe all lasting, committed relationships begin with a friendship.

Past relationships have taught me that a common faith is essential and that God must be the center of a relationship if it is going to last.

Being an Adventist means loving and serving the Lord by following His commandments, not because I have to, but because I choose to. It means I await the second coming of Christ and seek to bring as many people into a saving relationship with Christ through my testimony, using words only if necessary.

In the next five years I hope to grow in my profession and obtain a Masters Degree in English Literature. More importantly, though, I want to develop a stronger and ever-growing relationship with Christ.

My favorite Bible passage is John 16:33: "In this world you will have trouble; but take heart, I have overcome the world."
This verse brings me peace. It is Jesus' promise that no matter what this world throws at us, He has already taken care of it. When things start looking bad, I remind myself that as long as God is on His throne, what reason have I to fear? This verse is a reminder of that beautiful promise.

I love to curl up with a good book and can lose myself in the world of literature for hours. I love sunrises and sunsets and watching thunderstorms. I love to cook and spent 8 summers working in a camp kitchen. I love working with the youth and discussing God's plan for their lives.
