Introduction
I'm a disciplined, vegetarian, athletic recent college graduate from Washington, D.C. who loves meeting new people from all cultures and walks of life. Don't hesitate to say hello!
Spiritually, the Lord is an ever-present friend, daily teaching me about His character and His purposes for me and the world. On my own, I enjoy reading theology books and resting in silent meditation. In my church, I love singing on the praise team and preaching. And at school, I led students in their spiritual development, teaching them from God's Word and helping them build witnessing communities in their dorms.
Being reared in a military household, I've moved many times all over the world. From the UK to Japan, my experiences in and out of the US have fostered a love for diversity and adventurous experiences in me. I think they also had a strong impact on my decision to pursue a diplomatic vocation. I just love being abroad.
Personality wise, I've found a balance between fierce enthusiasm and calm focus. Some things that I aspire to are clear communication, putting others first, loyalty in relationships, and honesty. But this doesn't mean I'm a pushover. I will certainly speak my mind, stand my ground, and sometimes become fiercely independent. In this way, I'm a bit of a paradox.
Still, I seek balance in every area of my life, seeking to engage both the feeling and rational aspects of my personality. I'm certainly not one to believe that anyone's personality is innate, but that each person is their own project. I'm a bit of an existentialist in that regard.
Ultimately, I'm looking for people who enjoy deep conversation, spending time outdoors, and socialising with others. Simplicity, modesty, adaptability, and a sharp mind are all traits I value deeply.

Essays
I don't think a movie would be ideal, because we wouldn't be able to talk! I'd choose an more lively activity, like rafting or a quiet concert where we can really get to know one another. Nothing beats an old-fashioned walk in the park.

I've never been in a relationship before, but I think it's important to enter with realistic expectations and with a spirit of grace and forgiveness. Building a relationship takes time, but I believe it's worth it.

Being an Adventist for me means standing up for Jesus no matter what -- when things are unclear, when opposition arises, when your strength is failing. It's also an acceptance of the fact that God is still working in the lives of His people, and that He is preparing the way for the world to be ready for His coming.

I'll get my Masters in International Relations and my Ph.D in Economics, and become a diplomat for the Foreign Service. I started school wanting to be a psychiatrist though, and God sent me in an entirely different direction. So I've learned it's important for me to let God make the plans, not me.

Ecclesiastes 3:10-11: "I have seen the burden God has laid on men. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end."
To me, it captures the paradox of our world -- suffering and death meeting hope everlasting. And it recognises that we have difficulty seeing it sometimes. But God is still in control, and the end result of his work will be beautiful.
