What I'd like to do on a first date...

I am not sure of one specific thing I would like to do on a first date. I think the activity should be something that both persons really enjoy doing and the time should be spent getting to know each other better. Visiting over coffee or dinner, getting out partaking in some activity. I don't think that a first date should consist of a movie. This does not allow you to get to know each other. It should be interactive.

My past relationships have taught me...

I have been taught that unless Jesus is first and central in my life I cannot truly love and care for the other person. Every relationship has problems, some bigger then others, but if Jesus is my focus and Jesus is your focus then we can work through things as the Lord leads us. It is so important that the same values, and beliefs, same principles are shared. If cores are not shared it will drive wedges between the two and sometimes those are very hard to overcome. I have learned that I am a very loyal devoted person, I am also a very strong person. I do not give up easily. Maybe that could be a fault too.

To me, being an Adventist means...

In some ways I am still figuring this one out in my own mind. I was born and raised into the Adventist faith, in many ways it is all that I have known. But there is more to it then that as well. I have gone through periods of rebellion, if you will, but there is always something that calls me, no, pulls me back. I can't live my life without God. I talk to him all the time. (maybe I need to listen more.) He is my constant companion, I am always looking to him to lead me and guide me. I truly believe that what God has told us as far as living out lives is for our best and if we would only be faithful to him he will do the rest.

Being God's child for me means living a life with principles, values that are wholesome, being a good citizens of this earth and in the communities we live in. Letting a higher power have control of me. From what I understand of other faiths Adventists are the only ones that really truly believe the full truth and not just parts of it. Adventists have a sense that everything about our lives is of utmost value and importance to God, not just the attendance of church once a week, it is a life changing experience. I am not sure that this really answered the question.

In five years, I see myself

In the next few years I hope that I will be able to get my feet back under me again and that I can start to focus on me a bit. I don't mean that in a selfish way. It is just that I have lived my life so much for other people and in many ways I feel that I have lost who I am. I can see the next few years being filled with new self discoveries of who I am, and what I would like to be when I grow up. A finding me of sorts.

More specifically I would love to do some traveling. I would love to add to my family of two cats by getting a dog, and not just any dog, I have a specific breed in mind. I want to get out doing camping, hiking, biking, maybe some kayaking or canoeing and take part in a few more 1/2 marathons.

My favorite Bible passage is...

That is tough. There are just so many to choose from. But I think the passages that grab me the most or the ones that I am able to connect to the most are the Psalms. David was such a passionate, emotional person. It was real for him. He did not hide behind some front but he let it all out and was honest with God. When I read what he wrote, I feel many times that David has reached into my heart and written what I want to say, what I am feeling.

One final thing I'd like to mention...

If you have not been able to figure out from the above answers, I seem to like to talk. And I think a lot, yet when I am in a new situation, or in a large group that I do not know very well I can clam up and get very shy. I do much better one on one or in smaller groups.
