What I'd like to do on a first date...

.

My past relationships have taught me...

"A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." Proverbs 17:17. "When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him." Proverbs 16:7. "Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you." John 15:14.

To me, being an Adventist means...

I am a Saturday sabbath keeper so reverence this day each week by keeping it holy (Genesis 2:2-3; Exodus 20:10; Hebrews 4:4-9; Isaiah 66:23). The moral law of God contained in the ten commandments is the eternal and perfect reflection of the character of God and cannot be improved upon through change or abolition (Psalm 19:7; Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8; James 1:17; Revelation 14:12). To suggest His character needs changes implies imperfection which is what Satan claimed in the rebellion that took place in heaven. It would also imply the pagan day of the sun to be more perfect than the true sabbath of the fourth commandment. It was only the ceremonial law which was nailed to the cross, as shown in the sacrificial service which typified the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ to become the Redeemer of mankind.

The moral law is the only means we have through which we can measure His righteousness to become Christlike in character. If there was no moral law, then there would be no sin, for sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4). If there was no sin, then there would be no need for a Saviour to save us from our sins (Matthew 1:21). If there was no need for our Saviour Christ, then there would be no need to be a Christian (Psalm 14:1).

I believe that liberalism and legalism are built upon more or less the same philosophy. Both require conformity to a set of rules regarding how to think and live. Genuine love for Jesus and His truth produces a natural desire for living a holy life which is true conversion and penitence for sin. I do not believe in once saved always saved theology. I believe that we are saved by grace through faith on condition of obedience to God's commandments. (Revelation 22:14; Matthew 7:21; Romans 6:1-2; Galatians 6:7; 1 John 1:6-10).

To suggest that we are entitled to forgiveness for sin while refusing to be willing and obedient to Him makes a mockery of the redemption plan. This plea would be a contempt of court in the day of judgment. Living in sin is not grace but disgrace. To profess to know God while in works denying Him is iniquity not salvation. All the promises of God are given on condition of obedience to God's commandments. (1 John 2:3-4; Matthew 7:21-23; Titus 1:16; Matthew 15:8-9).

In five years, I see myself

I would hope to get married and buy a home. Due to the current economic climate I decided to remain in the British Isles and shall leave the results with the Lord to wait and see if he has other plans for me. I am currently involved in running a new church in my local area to further the spread of the gospel in the surrounding towns and villages nearby so hope to expand this work.

My favorite Bible passage is...

"Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he." Proverbs 29:18.

"I have the most precious matter to reproduce and place before the people in testimony form. While I am able to do this work, the people must have these things, to revive past history, that they may see that there is one straight chain of truth, without one heretical sentence, in that which I have written. This, I am instructed, is to be a living letter to all in regard to my faith." Ellen G. White, Letter 329a, 1905, pp. 1, 2. (To Granddaughter Mabel White, November 16, 1905.) 3MR 246.2

One final thing I'd like to mention...

Among the most valuable qualities a person can possess is conscientiousness to all that the bible teaches. Jesus lived His life according to every word of scripture in contrast to fallen humanity and we can receive power to do the same (Philippians 4:13).
