Who am I?

Hmmmmm.... well.... I've got two arms, two legs, all my teeth, and my mom says I'm handsome.

We all have an idea of what we think we are, so I asked a few friends to describe me and here's what they said: "Fun loving, zany, intellectual, spontaneous, inquisitive, laid back, avid reader, bike junkie, deep thinker, loyal, kinda goofy and playful."

Things I enjoy include reading, writing (journaling, sermons, poems, and currently working on a book), board/card/table games, stimulating conversations, simple pleasures, and laughing. Also into health/nutrition, creationism/evolution, public speaking/teaching, and people watching.

One of my greatest passions is cycling, whether road or mountain. To me there's just nothing like riding and I love every aspect of it from building my bikes from scratch to travelling all over the U.S. to ride and everything else in between.

Other likes include traveling/exploring, camping, playing in the water (swimming, skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, kneeboarding, jet skis), horses (my family has several), rock climbing, and Jeeping. In other words, pretty much anything outdoors.

What am I looking for?

It would be nice to meet an upbeat, intellectual, clever, outdoorsy, adventurous gal to play with, ride with, sweat and get dirty with, laugh with, cry with, chase rainbows with, pray with, take road trips with, and live out our own exciting adventure.

Match Preferences

What I'd like to do on a first date...

Personally, I'd rather do something interactive than sit and watch a movie or a play (unless it's Cirque Du Soleil). Something outdoors, even if it's just sitting on a blanket under a tree in the park talking and playing Uno, Boggle, Scrabble, Upwords, or something of the sort.

I'm somewhat against "traditional first dates" where people get all dressed up and try to give the best impression. Isn't it better to be comfortable and just be yourselves? There is no greater joy and security than being loved for who and what you are... warts and all.

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." ~ Dr. Seuss

My past relationships have taught me...

Don't be unequally yoked. Though I am divorced it was not my choice, I was not a willing participant, nor did she have biblical grounds for doing so.

Never consider marriage with anyone who doesn't love you like your dog does.

Everyone is beautiful in their own way and has their own set of strengths and weaknesses.

Never pass an opportunity to make someone smile.

When two people focus on meeting the needs of the other rather than their own, both of their needs get met beyond their wildest dreams.

Though opposites initially attract, they eventually repel.

One must be happy and content with themselves before they can be happy and content with another.

A hug is worth a thousand words.

Keep your words sweet, you might have to eat them some day.

Conflict may be a reality but combat is not a necessity.

Fighting fair doesn't involve fighting.

Communication. Communication. Communication.

To me, being an Adventist means...

In my opinion focusing on Christ and being a Christian is more important that focusing on the "isms" of Adventism.

That being said, I love the Adventist message! Why? Because it's not a message based on man, but on the Word.

However, I think it's important to focus on the needs in others and similarities shared rather than sitting in judgment on the differences or lack of knowledge/understanding.

As Adventists we should use our message to win souls, not arguments.

In five years, I see myself

Currently working toward my master's pursuing my LPC.

Would like to have gone on at lease one medical mission trip to central/south America.

Actively endeavoring to increase my proficiency at speaking Spanish.

Other things on the list include, but certainly aren't limited to, visiting Peru to explore Machu Picchu. Cycling through Europe. Camping on a Hawaiian beach. Riding the Arizona Trail (Mexico to Utah - 800 miles) and the Great Western Trail (Mexico to Canada - 2400 miles) on my mountain bike. Tour the pueblos of Arizona and New Mexico (there's a plethora of them!). Sit on top of Mt. Rushmore. Visit all 48 states on my Harley.

My favorite Bible passage is...

Lamentations 3:22-26. Read it and you'll understand why!

One final thing I'd like to mention...

Hands are made for holding. Makeup is overrated. Cuddling is divine. Getting dirty is fun and sweaty hugs are awesome! I'm very active, love cycling, am primarily vegan, and though I enjoy nice things I'm not materialistic. I work to live rather than living to work.

If these things don't appeal to you there's absolutely no hope for an "us".
