TahoeSkiCat--I may not be your first love...but I will be your last love! :-)

Hi Girls!
I'm not a Bible thumper, am no saint, and made many mistakes in my life. However, since committing to live a better way, and studying the wisdom in God's Word, I have peace as long as I let go, and let God drive the boat.

Now as I search for my new best friend, life partner, and ultimately wife, I remember Proverbs 31:10 "Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies." (The whole chapter is worth reading.) I am looking for such an awesome virtuous woman, who shares a commitment to make God the center of our home, as we seek His will in all things, and reach out to touch others who may be hurting in some way.

I'm no prude, have a quick and sarcastic sense of humor, sometimes bordering on inappropriate, which He has to reign in.... My primary love language is physical touch, followed by words of affirmation. As you may imagine, as a man this makes it all the more important to find a virtuous woman I can trust not to manipulate my vulnerabilities, but to build me up, and vice versa.... I can't wait to have a whirlwind active life of fun and service with my virtuous woman, whom I will cherish.... Is she YOU?

Personal views:
God is good...ALL the time, God is Good!
God, Family, Friends...in that order.
American Patriot...Citizen of Heaven.
Fun is great...especially outdoors.
Snow skiing! Trail running! Be fit!
Holistic nutrition, prevention, and healing.
Healthy lifestyle & youthful heart...by choice, not chance.
Prayer...the ultimate Power source!

If your religion does not lead you to love people more, maybe it's time to reconsider your theology.

Most importantly:
Jesus is coming soon, VERY soon...
are you ready?
Have you accepted His free gift?
The still empty tomb assures us this gift remains available...at least for a short time longer.
The grandest adventure EVER, awaits; exploring the universe with its Creator Who is our Best Friend!

By the way, I wish this site allowed more photos, since they help tell our stories faster than words. I have many more available to see already online, so just let me know if you would like to know where to find them.

What I'd like to do on a first date...

Meeting for coffee is so cliché; how about Jamba Juice on a walk through the park? Or sitting on a bench visiting and people watching. Or a hike & picnic? Or hitting the ski slopes for a few runs (or longer...if it goes well) together at Tahoe!

To me, being an Adventist means...

Loving God.
Accepting the free gift of salvation made possible by His Son's spilled blood at the Cross.
Being made whole through faith by grace.
Living a better life for Him, including following His commands as evidence of our love, but not as a means for gaining brownie points to get into Heaven.
The Holy Bible is the Word of God, and the basis for all true understanding. All other sources must be tested against the Bible.
Our bodies are temples of God, to be cared for through temperance and moderate lifestyle that includes good nutrition, fresh air, exercise, rest, water, stress management, service to others; and of course staying connected to God through prayer, and an open heart to hear His still small voice.
Being a Christian includes putting on the full armor of God, and remaining vigilant against relentless attacks by our adversary and deceiver who roams the earth seeking who he can devour; for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the powers of darkness.
In plainspeak, we are Christians when we invite Jesus into our hearts, and allow Him to lead us through, or away from the world's traps and distractions, and turning our attention to higher things of eternal value.
Not just believing, but doing. Helping others.

My favorite Bible passage is...

Too many to choose, but here are three that hold special meaning in my life:
Philippians 4:19 "my God shall supply all your needs..."
Isaiah 40:31 "Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; ...mount up with wings like eagles,...run and not be weary..."
Psalm 121 God helps those who seek him.

One final thing I'd like to mention...

Favorite activities: I enjoy trail running, snow skiing, & fishing. Tending to my garden & berry patch. Photography; especially people & dramatic views. Scenic country drives. Healthy cooking; especially to entertain family & friends. Just hanging out with my family--THAT's the best.

Favorite places & things:
Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, NorCal anywhere, SoCal beaches, Central Oregon, Pacific Northwest, Pacific Coast, redwood trees, lakes, rivers, and any mountain top.
Any place, any time, with family & close friends.
Any fishable pond, lake, river, or stream.
Any runnable trail, preferably with a scenic view.
Any skiable slope.
Inspirational music.
World Cuisine--vegetarian or preferably vegan.
Especially--Indian, Mexican, Middle Eastern, Thai, Italian, and Ethiopian.
Color--depends what it is: green, red, black.

Last reading:
Daily--Holy Bible, and Sarah Young's Jesus Calling daily devotional book (HIGHLY recommend this book!) Also regularly read Steps to Christ, Thoughts From the Mount of Blessing, and My Utmost For His Highest. A variety of books on prophecy & last day events.

Eclectic interests--usually have library books on a wide range of topics typically business, health & wellness, outdoors, cookbooks, and how-to.

Magazines and catalogs--Skiing, Outdoor Photography, Vegetarian Times, Eddie Bauer, Flyfishing, Trader Joe's Fearless Flyer (love that place!), other outdoorsy, travel, lifestyle, or food related.
