What would you like to do on a first date?

When a person is cognizant of their self and the potential effect of any act, it is hoped that such a person would be more likely to have proper comportment towards the other. The ability to listen to an other is an integral (if not the most vital) part of being and acting in the world, no matter what form or level of relationship.

To me, being an Adventist is not merely a nomination. The kind of life advocated by Adventism is beautiful. I understand it as seeking out and attaining restoration to the Edenic plan that God had for humanity before the curse of sin.

Unfortunately, I can not see into the future.

Jer. 29:11-14 is my favorite Bible passage because it is full of promise.

Here is a list of ten things that tell a little more about me.
1. I love the scent of lilacs in the air in springtime.
2. I love the brisk shift of the air temperature when fall arrives.
3. I love sweaters.
4. I love the quiet peacefulness of snowfall.
5. I try to go for a thirty minute walk every day (unless it is raining).
6. I have been told I am an excellent cook.
7. I love languages. I am fairly fluent in two, conversant in a third and have a working knowledge of a few others. Consequently, I love books like Agamben's Potentialities and the playfulness of Derrida's use of language.
8. While I seem to be a more introspective person, I do deeply enjoy intellectual engagement with others. This is perhaps the most important thing I could say about myself here.
9. By my profile I may appear quite serious, but I am in all honesty a bit of a comedian. I have a dry, New England styled sense of humor. After all, I am from Maine.
10. I am an extremely boring person.
